Voice Mail

The telephone is one of the most used tools is any successful home based business.

I use this voice mail system for $4 a month.

A web site and a telephone are really all you need to build a large business part time from home. The purpose of this training is to give you tips, practices and ideas that turn your phone into never ending flow of people that want to talk to you about your business.

Before You Get Started

Here's a check list of things you'll want to make sure you have in place.

- Three Way Calling
- Review your long distance plan. If using a cell phone make sure you budget for addittional minutes
- Voice Mail or Answering Machine

You don't need to have a seperate phone for your business although many people do. There's nothing wrong with using the family phone for your business as long as you know you'll get your messages and the people calling about your Balance Business are told they've reached the right number.

If you decide that you want to seperate to sperate your business calls from your personal calls there are some simpple inexpensive ways to do so.

Voice mail and Skype are the two most popular soltions. The reason is they're inexpensive and offer more than just voice mail. Voice Mail systems today recieve faxes, take messages and some even combine live operators with your system.

I use Voice Nation. If you're getting a voice mail consider this one. We can forward messages to each other and you'll be on the group distribution list for the Bodhi Group.

Here's how mine works. I pay $8.95 a month for a local toll number. If you choose a toll free number you will also be paying per minute charges for people that call you.

When someone calls my voice mail they're put on hold while the system attempts to call me at up to 5 different numbers I've selected.

When I receive the call the system operator tells me I have a caller. I can take the call or send it through to voice mail. If I don't take the call its sent to my personal voice mail, saved as a traditional voice mail and sent to me in an email as an MP3. I can forward the email to someone else if I want them to hear the message or save all my messages in a folder on my desktop.

You should not be making calls on your own. One way to make sure you don't is to let your prospect leave a message and then call them back with your support line on the phone.
