Here’s to a Rockin’ 2008!

I'm listening to Rascal Flatts playing, "My Wish'.
You know with so much we face as adults, deep down we all live with a wish. We all wish the very best for the ones that matter the most to each of us. Wishes are the best part of dreaming and because of that my wish for all of you is that I hope you all realize that life is truly amazing and we can all make a difference…

The Ultimate Gift

I saw the movie The Ultimate Gift the other night. Perhaps you have seen it or read the best-seller, written by Jim Stovall.

It is a story about a privileged but troubled young man who is sent on something of a journey when his wealthy grandfather passes away. His inheritance consists of twelve tasks, which his grandfather refers to as "gifts", which are designed to challenge him to grow as a man and help him to appreciate the true meaning of wealth.

In the beginning,… Continue

The Two Sides of Gratitude

When I was

growing up, my parents would always caution me to realize there were

two sides to everything. If I heard or saw only one side, they would

remind me to not pass judgment too quickly, and be assured there are

two sides. Well, I think that can be applied to every area of my life,

including gratitude.

Tonight I filled my tank with gasoline. The price at the pump was $3.09.9, AACK!…

The Bodhi Tree

Why the Bodhi Tree

BODHI TREE - bodhi tree The Bodhi tree is known in some cultures to be a symbolic representation of the individual's journey.

The seed starts out tiny and then grows to be open and free. They say this is how a person should keep their mind and heart.

The tree is rooted in the…

Gracious Gratitude

It is almost Christmas! Wow, where has the year gone. And in these last days before the big day, we are rushing here, running there, shopping, shopping, and even more shopping until just the right

presents are under our trees, hoping that they will be treasured by

those we want to bless.

Giving is two sided. I remember when my daughter was 7 or 8 and we had a wonderful birthday party for her at our local rec center. She had invited many friends, and I wanted her

have…

A Grateful Heart

With just a few days left until Christmas, I noticed that the property underneath my tree is pretty sparse. As I began to feel badly for my Daughter and my Husband, I realized that there were many things to be grateful

for in this house. Right now we are at 17 degrees, yet in my house it is

toasty warm. We are comfortable and snug as the winds howl and the snow

swirls around our little house. We have a marvelous pot of Beef and Vegetable

Soup (yep homemade) happily…

Gratitude in the Hard Times

When trouble hits, challenges come, or I feel like hiding, I pull out my Gratitude Journal (an old moleskin, well worn and used) and begin to read my top 10 "grateful list". As I read each item

I pause and reflect on why I am grateful for this item. I begin

feeling my "Gratitude Energy" shifting my mood from sad to hopeful! I

usually don't have to read very far down the list until I am feeling

positive about my situation, my life, and even the circumstances…

Gratitude and Abundance

Being grateful has been a daily choice for me in the past few years, and claiming favor has become an outcropping of that choice. I have been both astounded and blessed on many occasions by the simplicity of these two practices, and at the outcomes of each of them. I have learned that they are interdependent on each other, and both, together far outweigh the effectiveness of one or the other. Together, they make a circle and push me to greater heights of being grateful…

small and sweet

I was driving through the Starbucks drive-thru yesterday for a treat with my husband and the person before us had paid for our drinks as a holiday treat. We continued the trend and I hope that it continued on down.

Want to do something sweet for someone you don't know? The next time you get a cup of coffee or tea, pay for the person after you as well and keep spreading the cheer.
