I am happily married, living at 7600' in a small town in rural, southwestern colorado. My father passed away from Parkinson's last December at age 86. My mom is a vivacious 82. I love being outdoors and make part of my living teaching people about how to be safe in avalanche country. I am an avid cyclist and skier. I own and run a backcountry hut in the Colorado Rockies. I love growing, cooking, and enjoying delicious, healthy food, & good wine and beer. I grew up in Maine and spend a month there every summer on the lake. I love traveling, exploring new places, new cultures, having adventures. I love spending time with my friends.
I majored in physical education in college, have always been attentive to my health, as I haven't had health insurance for major portions of my life. I have always been fit, mostly through my work as a professional ski patroller and guide leading mountaineering and river trips in the western u.s. I have always eaten well and been very healthy. Even during my career as a corporate trainer I was able to maintain my fitness and healthy eating.
My attraction to ForeverGreen aligns perfectly with who I am. My attention has always been on whole being health and wellness. Working for Outward Bound, as a ski patroller, as a corporate trainer, everything I have done has been focused on helping people, clients or patients, embody a more power-full and joyous set of beliefs about themselves and their situation in spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental realms. As my own boss and independant contractor for most of my life, I understand the joys of a flexible schedule and the excitement and challenges of creating my own income stream through consistant effort and focus. Working with many Fortune 500 corporations for 14 years, I saw first hand the life-draining, mind-numbing, duplicitous environment present in most organizations. Although our training would bring some hope and joy into people's lives, it was short-lived. Most corporations said they were for creating a team environment where people could show up as who they really are, encouraged to to their best and not have to play games to get ahead. However when the rubber met the road, i.e. aligning the company's compensation plan with those words, it rarely happened. The power continued to be held by position in the company rather than the value you bring to the organization in achieving its stated goals. ForeverGreen's compensation plan does just that. Rather than rewarding people for their skill at 'company politics', it rewards members for the effort and value they bring to furthering the company's goals of health, kindess, and opportunity. I am grateful to be associated with a company who understands that if each of us succeeds, then the company will be hugely successful.
If I won the lottery I would....
allow my husband the opportunity to quit his job and pursue new passions. I would take my mom to Britain and Europe for several long adventures. Mark and I would ski every ski station in Europe, and ski in Argentina and Chile for a month a year for several years. We would ski the John Muir Trail in California in winter, and hike it in the summer. I would pay for my niece's college education to Bates College. I would continue to bring ForeverGreen's message of health, community and opportunity to the world. We would spend time in San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Boston, enjoying city things. We would spend several months a year living and cycling in Europe. I would make the overdue repairs, upgrades, and additions to our house providing my mom a place to stay. I would pay for her to visit us whenever she wanted, flying or by train in 1st class. I would replace our old vehicles with a Mini Cooper Clubman and repair and upgrade our 1985 VW Vanagon (Mrs. "Van Morrison"). I would buy two motorcyles with bike trailers, and a scooter. I would join the Slow Food movement. I would buy a house in Eugene Oregon for my friend Susie, with a room for me to visit her and ride our bikes together every day.
How did you find our Forever Green Community?

Toni,
I appreciate you welcoming me. You too sound very cool. All your traveling - that is so great. I have done some traveling in Europe with my husband, and we would like to do more. A year and a half ago I stopped doing the job I was doing and began focusing on running our backcountry hut, so took a big hit in the income category. But I have gained so much in staying home. I am hopeful that my ForeverGreen business will make it possible for us to travel again. We did lead a bicycle trip in Sonoma this spring, spent a month in Maine, and are headed to Whistler for a snow conference in September. So life is really pretty darn good.
Just stopping by to say "hi"!
